Unfortunately, unlike Fedora, which packages the driver separately so it can be easily uninstalled, Ubuntu has made it impossible for users of its Wine packages to remove the winepulse driver.
I downloaded the app, and can confirm the problem in plain Wine. I also did a quick test in 1.4, since I had that already built, and the problem is there, too, so if this is a regression, it is much older than the "few weeks" before 1.5.16 that you originally reported.
I'm changing the severity to trivial; as you say, the tracks play normally.
