This bug affects Dark Fall: The Journal as well as the sequel, Dark Fall 2:
Lights Out.
Both games crash right after started with identical backtraces.
The games started correctly in Wine-1.3.31.

The problem is still present in wine-1.3.31-147-gfe1f692.

Steps to reproduce the problem in the demo:
Launch darkfalldemo.exe and you will receive a crash.

The result of the regression test:

The patch cannot be reverted on current git, but
git checkout cbd81d391c641083ba05ddbedde40ece4a161f28  >> the games are
crashing
git reset --hard HEAD^  >> the games start correctly
