Bug ID: 52443 Summary: Suggestion: make WordPad available as a native Linux? Product: Wine Version: 5.0.3 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: bart-wa@tushmail.com Distribution: ---
Hello everybody,
Would it be possible to make WordPad available as a native Linux program? I mean Wordpad as it comes with Wine.
Here's why:
Sometimes I want to make a text document with some formatting, but with a regular text editor I can only use plain text. I could use Libre Office, but I find it too heavy for simple tasks.
When I still used Windows I did a lot with WordPad, but it's not available for Linux. I've been searching for an editor for Linux that can do Rich Text Format, but I didn't find what I was looking for. There are a few editors out there, but they crash, they don't do RTF, or they don't have the functionality that I need,
WordPad, as it comes with Wine, does exactly what I'm looking for. To use it however, it needs to be started within Wine, and to do that each time I want to edit an RTF file isn't practical.
Since WordPad already comes with Wine, is it possible to make it available as a native Linux program?
Maybe call it WinePad? ;-)
