Bug ID: 44193 Summary: In 7 Days to Die the, in the 3D environment, mouse didn't react to small, slow movements. Product: Wine-staging Version: 2.21 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: rencer@euromail.hu CC: erich.e.hoover@wine-staging.com, michael@fds-team.de, sebastian@fds-team.de Distribution: ---
Some times ago there was a problem with mouse drifting in Unity- and Gamebryo/Creation-engine based games, that is already fixed (at least in Unity), but I still have a major issue with the mouse.
As I think about that fixed drifting problem, I have to think this issue with slow mouse movement was there at that time, but because the drifting bug, it can not be recognized. Or maybe it's a new bug, I'm not sure, I mentioned that old bug, maybe this one is somehow releaed to that and affect other Unity/Gamebyro games. Have to try in other games too, to be sure about it.
In 7 Days To Die you have to aim preciesly to the head of the enemies, otherwise they quickly overrun and kill your character, aiming precisely from a distant is a key element in that game, so this is a major issue, and like with the fixed drifting bug, this one renders the game (almost) unplayable.
In the 3D enviroment when I try to move the mouse slowly, just a very little bit it doesn't move. I have to move it at a certain, relatively fast speed to make it move, so it is impossible to aim correctly to the small target. The crosshair moves too much if I move it with a speed that is recognised, or it doesn't move at all if I move it slowly. Another similarity with the fixed drifting bug, is that it only happens in the 3D environment but not at menus, inventory, character, etc. screens.

Hello,
Not me, but I can contribute to get it fixed by asking you how you're going to help fix it? - Retest with recent wine-devel (4.13+)? - Log from terminal output? - URL to freely available application to test? - Reference to 'old drifting bug'?
Regards.

Alex is not the OP (=original poster). The OP is expected to confirm that the issue is fixed for him.
The cause of the issue was not identified, so we don't know what was the issue and if it got really fixed or not.
IT'S FIXED!
When the OP is not affected by the issue anymore and the cause was not identified the bug should be resolved WORKSFORME, and eventually reopened when other people are still affected.

Read Comment 8 by Olivier F. R. Dierick 2019-10-05 12:52:28 CDT. This bug is still present in the wine 4.17
I tried out that Wine 4.17 version and some later versions too (up to the current latest 5.0rc2) with some games that I legally own. None of them produced this bug in any Wine versions. And even Oliver can't reproduce this bug with freeware games. Not to mention that Wine version is very outdated, try it with the latest versions first.
If updating Wine still doesn't fix the problem for you, please post about it again and finally provide the required informations!!! Oliver several times asked for it, but you still doens't provided anything that needed to confirm that bug is really there...
It seems that is only you who have this problem, so it maybe not Wine. It can be something in your system like your mouse or keyboard recongnised as a joystick. Some fancy keyboards have keys or wheels that are wrongly recognized as joystick. Check that no other device is detected as a controller with these commands in terminal:
ls /dev/input/js* and ls /dev/js*
If there is no files starting with "js" in those folders, we can say; this is not the problem.
If those commands list some files, than your mouse or keyboard is recognised as controllers.I never had this problem, so ask Oliver how to fix it. He provided this information in another releated thread.

You and I both asked Alex, to provide more information about his problem. The last time that guy posted in 2019.
Alex NEVER provided the requested information. We can see that Alex always replyed the same day OR the next day. BUT NOT THIS TIME! Since we just ask him nothing more than; just PROVIDE THE INFORMATION, he dissapeared! Not a single answer. WHY?
As we know he already posted a PIRATE link for a game.
I think this is now TOO OBVIOUS what he want... You can see my previous post, that I tried out various Wine versions, with various games, AND NONE OF THEM has this bug anymore. Not even that 4.17 version that Alex mentioned have this bug anymore. It is CLEAR NOW, that Alex want to run a pirated game, or just trolling.
I'm the OP, and I confirmed that this bug is FIXED! I CLOSE this thread, and I ask you Oliver to never open this tread again! I don't want to involved in such things that people like Alex doing. If anyone really has this bug (I DOUBT!) than make you own bugreport, AND PROVIDE THE REQUESTED INFORMATION!
(P.S.: I'm not yelling. Capitals are always meant to underline the main ponit in a written text. Too bad that idiot internet trolls are twisted this rule, so everyone who want's to follow the rules and like to underline the main point with capitals -as it should be!- now considered as somone who is yelling. I never will acept this stupidity.)

I'm the OP, and I confirmed that this bug is FIXED!
Also, as I have stated, the status when the cause is unknown and the issue disappeared is WORKSFORME, not FIXED. fixed should be reserved for bugs that were fixed by an identified commit.
So, if you don't want to make a regression test to identify the commit, then I'll will mark the bug as resolved worksforme.

OK, I doens't really know those technical terms that you used, but I'm fine with that. The only thing that I really want, because his bug seems to be really fixed, that nobody can post to anything anymore to here. Becase of the Alex guy, who like to get help to run her pirated game. Close this if you can just be sure nobody can post anything into it. I really don't want to involved in such thing. If anyone have similar problems, anybody can make a new bug report. Please, do something to close this forever, so no one can post here anymore.
Because: If anyone have similar problems, anybody can make a new bug report.
Several new Wine version has come out since the last post, AND NONE OF THEM HAVE THIS BUG ANYMORE!. Alex is just a...we know it for sure.
Seriusly, this bug is NO MORE! Close it forever, please, so no one can post anything here anymore! Anyway WHY this is cannot be marked as fixed, when this bug is no more, when it si REALLY FIXED?
