Bug ID: 35342 Summary: Office 2013 full offline install setup crash at startup Product: Wine Version: 1.7.10 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: kernel32 Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: romain@chantereau.fr Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 47144 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=47144 wine 64bits backtrace on setup.exe invocation
Just launching setup.exe from the content of “OfficeProfessionalPlus_x86_fr-fr.img”.
It is certainly related to #34869, but crashing in kernel32.
With the 32 bits version, it is the same behavior.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35342
--- Comment #2 from romain@chantereau.fr --- I made a mistake in the fist command, I will clarify : * tested MS Office 2013 32 bits installer from “OfficeProfessionalPlus_x86_fr-fr.img” with wine 32bits * tested MS Office 2013 64 bits installer from “OfficeProfessionalPlus_x64_fr-fr.img” with wine 64bits
Each time in a isolated wine prefix.

Same for me, but I've managed to install it by ensuring winbind is installed. However, I couldn't run Word or Excel, they crash after the splash screen

--- Comment #5 from Nikolay Sivov bunglehead@gmail.com --- Could you try again with Wine 1.7.23? Attached patch shows that it's not related to kernel32 most likely, reseting component for now.

--- Comment #6 from Quentin Pâris qparis@playonlinux.com --- Install runs fine with 1.7.23.
(Word, Excel and Powerpoint still crash with different error after showing the splash screen.)

--- Comment #8 from Alex Henrie alexhenrie24@gmail.com --- This is still broken for me on my Intel graphics card, although I'll bet it would work for people who use a proprietary AMD or NVIDIA driver. Can you retest with an Intel card?
The real problem here is that Office 2013 requires DirectX 10, Wine uses OpenGL 4 to implement DirectX 10, and Mesa does not support OpenGL 4. So we need to either make Wine fail more gracefully or wait for OpenGL 4 support to come to Mesa.

Please file a new bug for that.
