Output when selecting new 2D board option

When selected use new 2D board, the pieces aren't drawn leaving a blank board.
The workaround is to untick use new 2D board.

See attached log for console output

board drawn with d2d debug on

switch to new board (doesn't draw pieces) look for NEW BOARD DRAWN HERE in log

switch board to old 2D board (to compare / eliminate other calls) look for OLD
BOARD DISPLAYED FROM HERE

finished drawing old 2D board at end of log

Still an issue at wine 10rc2, using windows 10 in winecfg and with a fresh
install. Good for blindfold chess practice though!

Anyone had a chance to take a look at this?

I'm happy to jump on a zoom call so we can try some stuff.

I've noticed the board table (the screen fill in the pane where the board
doesn't cover) isn't drawn either in new or old 2d board mode. This might be
the same issue. A log probably would contain all the stuff for the board draw
as well so probably not worth filing a bug for at this stage.
