I have tried deleting ~/.wine. It does nothing. I use the newest wine builds from the winehq repository. I run Debian (amd64 testing with some unstable). I also have tried building it myself and using wine built by Debian, but still have the same problem.
Any ideas? (should I have submitted a new bug?)
