VB6 works fine unless objects from Windows Common Controls are required. If
they are used in an existing application, it throws load errors. If I try to
add a reference to them manually, it generates the error shown in the
attachment. I am using wine 4.0 and the vb6 installation disks are MS
authentic. I have tried configuring wine vb6 libraries for the mscomctl.ocx to
native (won't run vb6 at all) and built in (works with exceptions above)

Wine simply does not provide mscomctl.ocx, setting something to 'native'
effectively disables it if you don't have this native module.

Hi Nikolay,
I installed Vb6 using the MS installation disk. This showed mscomctl.ocx being
installed. I have also copied it across from a working vb6 installation to the
wine c drive system32 folder and used regvr32 to register it. Whilst this
responded ocx successfully registered, problem persists
