Bug ID: 46737 Summary: Vb6 MSCOMCTL error Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: tim.lippstreu@gmail.com Distribution: ---
Created attachment 63737 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=63737 Screen shot of problem
VB6 works fine unless objects from Windows Common Controls are required. If they are used in an existing application, it throws load errors. If I try to add a reference to them manually, it generates the error shown in the attachment. I am using wine 4.0 and the vb6 installation disks are MS authentic. I have tried configuring wine vb6 libraries for the mscomctl.ocx to native (won't run vb6 at all) and built in (works with exceptions above)

--- Comment #1 from Nikolay Sivov bunglehead@gmail.com --- Wine simply does not provide mscomctl.ocx, setting something to 'native' effectively disables it if you don't have this native module.

Hi Nikolay, I installed Vb6 using the MS installation disk. This showed mscomctl.ocx being installed. I have also copied it across from a working vb6 installation to the wine c drive system32 folder and used regvr32 to register it. Whilst this responded ocx successfully registered, problem persists
