--- Comment #1 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2013-08-26 15:01:05 CDT --- Please retest in 1.7.0.
If still present, try 'winetricks ie7' and see if that works around it.

--- Comment #2 from djhbrown@gmail.com 2013-08-26 16:50:39 CDT --- i'm using Xubuntu, which has Wine 1.4.1 in its repository. How to get/install 1.7? also, i'm using Firefox, not IE7
there could be another, preferable, workaround for me to achieve my objective, which is simply to be able to choose my own alert sounds. BBO is available through a .php file, which has better graphics than its (now largely defunct) windows client, but its alert sounds are not user-selectable and they have no plans to make such a facility available. presumably the php script downloads soundfiles to somewhere locally so they can be played but i cant find out where that local (presumably temporary) file location is - do you have a suggestion?

The app is using wine's mshtml to display html, not your native browser. Using winetricks, you can try the native dlls.

--- Comment #4 from djhbrown@gmail.com 2013-08-27 01:09:52 CDT --- i'm not a windows programmer so wouldn't know where to start with dlls. but can you advise where firefox keeps app scripts in xubuntu so i can try the workaround i suggested?

--- Comment #5 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.37 or newer) wine? If so, please attach the terminal output in 1.7.37 (see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log).
