The answer is that I am almost certain that it did.
I re-installed Ubuntu Feisty Fawn Herd 2 yesterday, upgraded it, and then installed the latest wine from the wine edgy eft repository. Then I installed VVPro USB 10. I believe that VV Pro USB installed without a serious hitch, and that your patch worked. It certainly solved the earlier problem I had. I am waiting for some more time tonight and some help to see if VV10 works. If it does, I will file a report in the application database. I know that people have been trying to get Dragon NaturallySpeaking to work, and that it is very far from working at all. But ViaVoice, although not quite as good a product, will probably run better in Linux. Thanks for your help. Susan Cragin
