Hi All,

Oh now this is truly a pain in the neck (why the P2 priority).  Lotus Approach
does not have scroll wheel support.  In XP, you can load a utility called
"Flywheel" that will give you back your scroll wheel.  Problem: flywheel does
not work in Wine.

Would you please enhance the mouse drives in Wine to support a function similar
to Flywheel to allow Approach to use the scroll wheel?  Or, fix Wine to use
Flywheel?

Flywheel is "Abandonware" and is free.  The author had a page stating so
several
years ago but has taken it down since.  Here is a reference to its status on PC

Hi Austin,

I am running 1.1.33.  There is no symptom change.  Is there any chance of
getting this looked at in 1.1.34?

This one is a real pain in the neck!  Can you add FlyWheel support without the
Flywheel?

This may be a WONTFIX...is flywheel loading it's own driver? I doubt AJ would
accept a hack in the mouse code for one program.

Hi Austin,

This affects all of the Smart Suite programs.  and I suspect all older Windows
programs.  I would love it if you could get Flywheel to work or emulate its
actions some other way.  I really do hope you guys decide to do this.  It would
go a long, long way to making Wine friendly to use with Smart Suite

Todd, did you ever install the flywheel program under wine?

I tried and it comes much further then expected. After installing Approach
scrolls correctly. There is a drawback though: I cannot enter the registration
code in flywheel, all its windows are totally unresponsive and I cannot dismiss
them.

The alternative fix might be to get this tool working properly.

Hi Rein,

I had to "ps" and "kill" when I got to the registration process.

And, some things scroll and some things do not in Wine Approach; they do scroll
perfectly (Approach and Flywheel) in Virtual XP.

I would love it if you got this utility to work correctly in Wine.  Or, emulate
what Flywheel does.

Please leave open.  I will not be able to test until EPEL spins some RPMs for
1.6 (they skip the odd number releases).  Still on 1.4.  And it is still a
problem
