Summary: Notepad fonts do not display correctly after re-opening program Product: Wine Version: 1.1.35 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: susancragin@earthlink.net
Registry settings that affect font display in Notepad are ineffective after Notepad has been closed and re-opened.
To Reproduce. winetricks fontfix and fontsmooth-gray (So fonts display nicely.) open notepad, change font to FreeSerif 14. Open Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Dictate some text. Fonts display properly. Save text and close Notepad.

Works fine here in git.
Works OK here, too, as long as I'm not running NatSpeak. I'm using today's git.

--- Comment #4 from Henry Kroll nospam@thenerdshow.com 2010-02-19 15:52:19 --- Works fine here wine version 1.1.39 from GIT. I did winetricks fontfix and winetricks fontsmooth-gray. I did not have FreeSerif 14, so I used Liberation Sans 14. The changes persisted after closing Dragon bar and Notepad. I reran Notepad and Dragon NaturallySpeaking a few times. All looks nice and smooth.
Thanks for the suggestion of using fontfix. Notepads default font looks rather jagged.
Perhaps you are running Notepad from within a different WINEPREFIX than Dragon Natually Speaking. This can happen if Dragon Natually Speaking was installed into a different WINEPREFIX than the default .wine. The winetricks script is aware of other prefixes, you just have to make sure WINEPREFIX environment variable is set before using winetricks to apply changes under that new prefix...

--- Comment #5 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2011-11-16 13:52:32 CST --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 1.5 years. Is this still an issue in current (1.3.32 or newer) wine?
