Summary: Civilization 4 crashes on start Product: Wine Version: 0.9.47. Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-opengl AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: bas@debian.org
Created an attachment (id=8796) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=8796) Console output
I'm following the procedure as described in the HOWTO here: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=5254&iT...
When I try to start Civilization 4 (1.61), it start loading fine, switches my screen into a lower resolution (as it should), then displays a blue screen (sic) and crashes with an unhandled page fault. I'm attaching the full console log.
I've tried both 0.9.42 and 0.9.44.
Please let me know if there's anything that I can do to help debug or fix this.

--- Comment #3 from Roderick Colenbrander thunderbird2k@gmx.net 2007-10-28 10:36:01 --- One remark this bug wasn't the ati multithreading bug. I spoke the user on irc. Not just d3d apps crashed but also opengl apps on wine. This was using fglrx 8.42.3, the use of the xorg option UseFastTls=2 fixed it.

--- Comment #4 from Bas Zoetekouw bas@debian.org 2007-10-28 12:19:42 --- Unfortunately, there were two problems during our talk on irc: one was some openGL/fglrx driver weirdness that was solved by the fasttls option and a reboot. The other one , however, is the one I reported here, and which apparently is issue 9332.
