BYOND suddenly crashes when launching the game: BYOND Tabletop Game. I'm not sure why, so I placed some debug info underneath this.

Wine 1.1.7, registered an account, logged in, selected Role Playing Games, Table Top, Go. Produces a window that doesn't redraw or respond to input, top shows that there's a dreamseeker.exe running at 100% cpu while this is happening.

--- Comment #4 from Alex Hayton alex.hayton@gmail.com 2011-12-06 21:35:40 CST --- I can reproduce this too. When I use the builtin version of msvcrt.dll I get the frozen window when I try to launch a game from the server browser.
If you install the native msvcrt, it fixes the issue with Wine 1.3.32, and causes a crash when launching the server browser with Wine 1.3.33 or later.
I have raised the crash problem in a seperate bug (Bug 29257) and will try and identify the commit that causes the crash bug tomorrow. For now, it's possible to play the game quite well with 1.3.32 and the native msvcrt from winetricks.

although the old client can be still downloaded and installed, you can't really join servers unless you upgrade to BYOND 5.0.
Unfortunately v5.0 has its own set of problems -> not this bug.
The downloaded version will update to 4.0 Public 498.1158 When you use 'File' -> 'Open Location' -> paste server URI it bails out with:
"Dream Seeker is too far out of date. Version 500 is required ..."
Resolving 'abandoned' since the old issue can't be reproduced anymore with that version.
