Summary: MP3tag - <keep> value not set if multiple fields selected Product: Wine Version: 0.9.61. Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: robin-winehq@robinbowes.com
When multiple tracks are selected, any fields in the tag panel that are not common to all tracks should automatically change to "<keep>", i.e. don't update this value.
Under Wine, this does not happen.
This is a major usability pain because it results in the tags in the selected tracks being over-written.
Currently using Mp3Tag 2.41, although I have seen the same behaviour in earlier versions of both Mp3Tag and Wine.

--- Comment #3 from Robin Bowes robin-winehq@robinbowes.com 2008-05-08 03:37:08 --- Created an attachment (id=12816) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=12816) All tracks selected using Ctrl-A
Mp3tag showing the contents of a single directory with all tracks selected by pressing Ctrl-A
Notice that, in the Tag Panel (on the left), "Title", "Album", and "Track" have all changed automatically to "< keep >" meaning "Don't update this value". This is because these fields have different values for each track.

--- Comment #4 from Robin Bowes robin-winehq@robinbowes.com 2008-05-08 03:41:43 --- Created an attachment (id=12817) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=12817) All tracks selected using Shift + mouse
Mp3tag showing the contents of a single directory with all tracks selected by clicking the first track with the mouse, holding Shift, and clicking the bottom track, i.e. usual Windows list selection.
What should happen is that in the Tag Panel (on the left), "Title", "Album", and "Track" all changed automatically to "< keep >" meaning "Don't update this value". This is because these fields have different values for each track.
This does *not* happen when tracks are selected using normal Windows list selection techniques (Shift + mouse click, Ctrl + mouse click, Shift + cursor down, etc.)
