Looks like the "mode" command is missing. Appears to be a batch command? I
can't find it anywhere.

This program looks like a fun testcase.

Looks like this also needs findstr command, as well as schtasks.exe and
cscript.exe

confirming
in fact i found mode.com and it spits out information about LPT1, COM1, COM2
and CON here.
does a stub app help?
