Summary: Minimize does not add button in taskbar Product: Wine Version: 1.1.0 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: john.bester@attix5.com
Created an attachment (id=14520) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=14520) Notepad minimized to top left corner of screen
I use Beyond Compare in Wine 1.1.0 in OpenSUSE 10.3 with KDE desktop. When I minimize the app (I verified this by copying notepad.exe from a Windows PC and using it), I do not get the expected result. In stead I get an icon somewhere on my screen which moves back the when I try to drag it to another place. Usually it ends up right on the menu button on the task bar, but when I verified it with notepad, it showed up in the left upper corner of my desktop. Please look at attached screenshots.

When an app minimizes like this, it obscures the menu button in the start bar. You can drag away the icon, but as soon as you release the mouse button, it jumps back to it's original location.
