Sims 3 crashes at the end of installation with the popup message:
"The Program msi5fe0.tmp has encountered a serious problem and needs to close."

I'm running 1.1.25, installed this in a clean wine folder and I've followed the
recommendations from the Appdb how to install.

I found yesterday that sims didn't install into the correct wine folder so I
did everything again according to the recommendations and now it works.

It's not fixed unless a patch went into Wine to fix the problem.

The instructions on the AppDB mention many different things such as suggesting
to use 1.1.23 with some patches or was it that you didn't install .net with
winetricks?

Without providing us more information on exactly what you did starting from a
clean prefix this bug will be marked invalid.
