Play On Linux is not supported. Try a vanilla version of Wine 1.9.14.

Your backtrace shows Wine 1.6.2, that version is very old and unsupported. Does your distro have Wine 1.8.3 (the latest stable) available or Wine 1.9.14 (development)?

Oops, showing my inexperience. Thank you for your patience.
When I run with the correct wine version, i get the attached output. Note it doesn't actually crash, but just terminates

--- Comment #8 from Mark Lipman mark.lipman@gmail.com --- No, just running in that directory

No, just running in that directory
Alright, what I recommend is two things:
1. Install the game in a clean prefix outside of any PlayOnLInux directories.
2. Add your report here (terminal output, backtraces) : https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39229 because your bug may be considered a duplicate.

--- Comment #10 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com --- Please also CD to the directory first instead of launching with a full path, in your example using PoL:
$ cd ~/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/DAI/drive_c/Games/Dragon\ Age\ Inquisition
$ wine DragonAgeInquisition.exe

--- Comment #11 from faalagorn@gmail.com --- This bug is most likely a duplicate of Bug 39229 - however, if the actual culprit is the lack of Denuvo support, then shouldn't Bug 40631 be used instead? For the time being, I attached all three bugs (Denuvo + two Inquisition related ones) to the actual game.

--- Comment #12 from winetest@luukku.com --- I think this bug should be merged a dupe of bug 39229.
And if possible update the other bug with more recent wine log. There is no need to open several bugs for the same game that has unknown issues running.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40942
--- Comment #13 from faalagorn@gmail.com --- Yeah, I agree as well. No matter what happens with Denuvo general Bug 40631, this bug and Bug 39229 should be merged I guess.
Since Bug 39229 is earlier, so I guess this bug should be closed and respective info merged into it, I think?

Dragon Age Inquisition no longer crashes, but still does not run without creating/modifying the config file in advance to avoid fullscreen. I've mentioned in Bug 39229 how to get the game running.
Unfortunately attempting to switch to fullscreen or borderless windowed mode causes the game to hang.
Not sure which logs might be helpful. Hopefully a dev can drop in and offer some suggestions.
