--- Comment #1 from Béla Gyebrószki gyebro69@gmail.com --- Does it help if you run the demo only on 1 CPU core? taskset -c 0 wine SplinterCell.exe

--- Comment #2 from Maik Wagner maiktapwagner@aol.com --- Created attachment 49081 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=49081 Screenshot of main menu
Hello Bela,
yes this helps: The Ubisoft Logo comes up and an intro video is shown. Unfortunately the main menu seems to be garbled. (See screenshot).

--- Comment #3 from Béla Gyebrószki gyebro69@gmail.com --- I believe it's a dupe of bug #35041 At least on my system the demo often crashes on start with a backtrace like this: Backtrace: =>0 0xb778cb1c __kernel_vsyscall+0x10() in [vdso].so (0x00b2b9c8) 1 0xb73e5b96 gsignal+0x45() in libc.so.6 (0x00b2b9c8) 2 0xb73e73d3 abort+0x142() in libc.so.6 (0x00b2b9c8) 3 0xb74252f8 __libc_message+0x297() in libc.so.6 (0x00b2b9c8) 4 0xb742ce52 _int_free+0x651() in libc.so.6 (0x00000003) 5 0x7dea7a44 _XlcDestroyLocaleDataBase+0x93() in libx11.so.6 (0x7c6182b0) 6 0x7deac7f1 in libx11.so.6 (+0x517f0) (0x7d441008) 7 0x7deb45f8 _XCloseLC+0x77() in libx11.so.6 (0x7d441008) 8 0x7deb4641 _XlcCurrentLC+0x30() in libx11.so.6 (0x7d441008) 9 0x7deacebd _Xlcmbstowcs+0xfc() in libx11.so.6 (0x7d441008) ...
If I use 'taskset' to start the demo, it always starts up fine.
