Error log
I got the Wine error popup.
You are using native dll's for shdocvw etc, so it's obvious it'll crash if you use builtin mshtml. Start all over again, with a new .wine, and no native dlls

In Wine-1.3.8 the installer (which is actually a Macrovision download manager) behaves differently: it crashes right after startup producing a nice backtrace. 'winetricks msxml3' workarounds the crash. Additionally you will also need 'winetricks ie6' to get the download manager work. The real installer will be downloaded into ../users/Public/Downloads. Please, consider changing the component to msxml.
On a side note bug #24040 might be about the same issue but I cannot try that demo because of regional restrictions (at least that's what the download page says).

--- Comment #10 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2012-07-08 07:21:06 CDT --- Dupe of bug #10911. It is the same download manager as the one in #10911, and it behaves in the same way in Wine 1.5.8. According to my testing ie7, native msxml3 and wininet are needed to get the download manager fully working.
