Bug ID: 45512 Summary: TERA Crashes - Unhandled Excpetion Product: Wine-staging Version: 3.13 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: eli@orbsky.homelinux.org CC: leslie_alistair@hotmail.com, z.figura12@gmail.com Distribution: ---
Created attachment 61888 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=61888 TERA Crash Log
Hi
I haven't looked at TERA in quite some time. However, over the last couple of days I wanted to visit for a little bit.
Unfortuneately I was unable to becuase after clicking on play, the program crashes with an unhandled excecption error.
I did not see that anyone currently playing has reported the problem in their forums... There does not seem to be a problem with the game.
So...
I created a completely clean prefix. Successfully installed TERA and produced the output that I will attach to this report.
If there is something else I could to help resolve this issue, I would be very very happy to help if I can.
Thanks

--- Comment #2 from Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- This is a CEF game. Do you have corefonts installed?
Can this be reproduced with upstream Wine?
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45512
--- Comment #3 from Eli Wapniarski eli@orbsky.homelinux.org --- This game cannot be played with regular wine.
And no I don't have corefonts installed? Would you like me to install them?

--- Comment #4 from Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- (In reply to Eli Wapniarski from comment #3)
This game cannot be played with regular wine.
And no I don't have corefonts installed? Would you like me to install them?
It's generally necessary to work around bug 32342.

--- Comment #5 from Eli Wapniarski eli@orbsky.homelinux.org --- Installed Core fonts with winetricks. No joy..
Anyway that I could maybe produce a more detailed and perhaps a more relevant debug information?

--- Comment #6 from Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- A log with +seh,+module may be helpful, but I can't guarantee anything.

--- Comment #7 from Eli Wapniarski eli@orbsky.homelinux.org --- Created attachment 61895 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=61895 TERA Crash Log with +seh,+module
Here is the output. I have to go afk for now... if you are able to provide any additional insight in the time being that would be great.
I will be back in the morning :)

--- Comment #8 from Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- Looks like heap corruption. If a log with +relay,+heap is feasible, that would probably be helpful.

--- Comment #14 from Eli Wapniarski eli@orbsky.homelinux.org --- Oh... I should have mentioned... The reason that wine-staging has been required to run TERA is due to this bug:
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41634.
I have reinstalled regular wine and reported the issue again.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45512
--- Comment #15 from Eli Wapniarski eli@orbsky.homelinux.org --- Looks like someone else reported this bug in the appdb. I added this bug to the BUG list over there.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45512
--- Comment #16 from Eli Wapniarski eli@orbsky.homelinux.org --- This seems to have been caused by a modified version of Xigncode. It was removed from the game and it is working again
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45512
--- Comment #17 from Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- Apologies that I never got back to this bug. I guess then it's fixed on the game side?
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45512
--- Comment #18 from Eli Wapniarski eli@orbsky.homelinux.org --- It would seem so :)

Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com changed:
What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Resolution|NOTOURBUG |ABANDONED
--- Comment #21 from Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- NOTOURBUG is used for bugs in upstream dependencies of Wine (e.g. kernel, compiler, libraries. I've felt that UPSTREAM would be clearer, but oh well.) Here there is almost certainly a bug in Wine, but the testcase with which to debug and reproduce it is gone, hence, the bug is effectively abandoned.
