Summary: Failure to load mp3 in popup file browser in Audiosurf. Product: Wine Version: 1.1.5 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: winehq@unixbigots.org
Created an attachment (id=16300) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=16300) Wine error/warning output
When I attempt to open an MP3 from my hard drive to play in Audiosurf the application crashes. I have Quicktime 7.1.6.200 installed, which is required for Audiosurf.
This is using the popup file browser in the app, because the in game file selection is unusable. The only way I can play is if I use the Audiosurf radio.

--- Comment #1 from Arkadiusz Piekarz piekarzarkadiusz@gmail.com 2008-09-28 12:10:33 --- I don't have this problem. The pop-up file browser opens and functions with no errors. I don't have Quicktime, it's not required to play this game.
The in-game file selection is unusable for me too.

--- Comment #2 from winehq@unixbigots.org 2008-09-28 12:14:38 --- I installed Quicktime because the howto in the AppDB recommended it. I was hoping it would help, but no such luck.

--- Comment #3 from Arkadiusz Piekarz piekarzarkadiusz@gmail.com 2008-09-28 13:52:24 --- What is your graphics card, drivers, system? Mine is Geforce 8800 GT, nvidia 177.76 drivers, Ubuntu 8.04. Wine 1.1.5-207-c425c8 or something like that (compiled from sources).

--- Comment #4 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-09-29 16:08:31 --- Please try a clean .wine directory without Quicktime and see if that helps.

--- Comment #5 from winehq@unixbigots.org 2008-09-29 16:19:06 --- SuSE 11.0 - 4 GB ram, Core2Duo
Nvidia 8400GS - Nvidia drivers 173.14
Wine 1.1.5-1.1
I had the same exact crash before I installed Quicktime (it was actually why I went looking at the howto). But I can try again with a new .wine when I get home.

--- Comment #6 from Wyatt Epp epp.8@osu.edu 2009-02-06 13:17:21 --- I'll note that until very recently Audiosurf was completely unable to handle Unicode in filenames, so that may have been the issue. Also, we've had about nine releases since that time, including one with Hans L.'s patches to add initial CR/LF handling to USP10 (the in-game browser now does line breaks, though it's not displaying quite correctly yet); is this still happening to anyone? It WORKSFORME on my end and I think I see a couple that agree in the comments. Should this be closed?

It works for me too. Audiosurf now breaks the lines in the file browser properly, but it appears to use invalid fonts and not display some letters or display them incorrectly. But that's a different bug.
Ubuntu 8.10, Geforce 8800 GT, nvidia 180.11 drivers, wine-1.1.14-248-gcb57ebc.
