Using a standalone Chrome Installer
$ sha1sum ChromeStandaloneSetup64.exe 
3b2c9b4005a84a1fe5475e4a472167667c381d29  ChromeStandaloneSetup64.exe

1. wine ChromeStandaloneSetup64.exe
2. cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Google/Chrome/Application
3. wine chrome.exe
4. a black window appears. A second later, it exists quietly

I found this in log

0728:Call KERNEL32.GetLastError() ret=1800685d0
0728:Ret  KERNEL32.GetLastError() retval=0000047e ret=1800685d0

I can workaround it by setting windows version to win8 by winecfg. Then I hit
bug 43415

Seems that this is a chrome issue instead of wine bug

Hi,

Could you add exact downloadlink?

I tested from
https://www.askvg.com/official-link-to-download-google-chrome-standalone-off...

It doesn`t really exit here in win10 mode, but doesn`t work either; Cannot get
any webpage working

In win81 mode it works Ok if I add "--disable-gpu" to command line, so looks
like infamous bug https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44985

Hi, i tried in current wine-7.0 from the above downloadlink and it installs and
starts here. I had to install arial via winetricks to load a webpage (which is
i guess already covered by other bugreport)

I`m assuming this is fixed in current wine, feel free to reopen if you still
run into trouble, regards
