"Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption" crashes if run from elsewhere but its own
folder. 
In other words you must go to the folder of the game and then run wine from
there in order to play.

Have you tried to run it from a different directory on Windows?

Could you attach the terminal output of when you're trying to run it, so we can
make sure that you do it in the right way?

Most likely a bug in the application. Feel free to reopen if the app doesn't
crash under Windows when being run from not its directory.
