Summary: Starsiege: Tribes: prevents cursor from leaving window Product: Wine Version: 1.3.15 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: beatme101@gmail.com
When running the game Starsiege: Tribes in windowed mode, it is difficult to move the cursor outside of the game window; it often (not always) brings the cursor back into the window.
Moving the mouse very slowly usually works to get the cursor out, as does using alt-tab to change application focus instead.
I've attached the console output made when it pulls the cursor back in but it's the same as when clicking into the window normally.
"Allow DirectX apps to stop the mouse leaving their window" is unchecked, as I believe is the Wine default.

Development recommends to check the status on your bug every release or two and let to be known if the bug is still present. If not, mark it fixed. If you are no longer able to put effort to this ticket, you can abandon it.
Is this still an issue with 1.7.1 or higher ?

--- Comment #3 from Jason beatme101@gmail.com 2013-09-22 03:33:52 CDT --- Yes, this still happens with Wine 1.7.2. It doesn't happen every time, and it traps the cursor more often when I move the mouse quickly.

--- Comment #4 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.37 or newer) wine? If so, please attach the terminal output in 1.7.37 (see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log).

--- Comment #5 from Jason beatme101@gmail.com --- This still occurs (1.7.38), but less often (it's irregular, hard to tell), and no longer causes console output, except for a single line which was just on program startup. fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x32b918,0x00000000), stub!

--- Comment #6 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr --- Does the bug still occur with wine-4.5?
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26397
--- Comment #7 from Jason beatme101@gmail.com --- I can only test up to 4.4 as 4.5 cannot be installed for some reason. (winehq-devel has updates without related packages, no errors, but the checkbox in software updater does not respond to clicks, and apt upgrade says it will be kept back with no explanation. Unrelated stuff but prevents me from testing the bug in 4.5.)
Bug still occurs in 4.4.

--- Comment #8 from Ken Sharp imwellcushtymelike@gmail.com --- Does this still occur in Wine 9.8 or later?
