"Now, an important thing: THE TRICK for it to work fine: If you don't want to experience painful frame rate (FPS) drops after playing 30-40 minutes, go to the in-game's graphics options and set the FPS to lock at 60."
I expect this to work after a test playing ~30 minutes. Please confirm!
By the way: It seems that only nvidia-graphic-cards are related to this bug. Please also confirm.

I actually have this bug on Mesa with Intel HD 4000.
The fps limit seems to help, I didnt have the stutter, but the fps still drops to ~40.
On Nvida GTX750Ti I'm unable to play more than 10 min, because fps drops to around 20. But it might be something about my configuration as I only have access to that PC once in a while, so I cant test it thoroughly.

--- Comment #5 from christofer@roxando.com --- I have the exactly same issue. When I start the game, I have around 180 FPS. After roughly 20 minutes it's down to 60-75 FPS.
At 25-30 minutes it's down to 40-45 FPS, and at this point the game is barely playable.
Nvidia Driver version: 375.26 Wine version: wine-staging 2.4.0-3 OS: Debian 8
I have 2x Asus STRIX ROG GTX 1080 OC. I don't believe the second GPU in the SLI setup is active. But one of them should be enough to run LoL properly for over half an hour.

--- Comment #6 from João Vitor Verona Biazibetti joaaoverona@gmail.com --- Confirmed here. This didn't happen back in 1.8 version. Has been happening since... 1.9 I think? Or 2.0. IDK.
I'm using wine-staging, version 2.0. Tried disabling all patches (CSMT, etc...), the same thing happens: after ~25 min of game, the FPS starts decreasing. DRASTICALLY.
I'm using Fedora 24. I have a Intel HD Graphics 4000, Mesa. Restarting the game brings the FPS back, but... it's annoying.

Did you try limiting FPS ingame to 60? I got pretty good results with it on. I think it is independent from the wine version. I believe it was introduced by LoL patch, but there is no real way to check it.
About Nvidia I checked it on Nvidia+Windows+wined3d and it works great with no degradation, atleast not on level of which happens on linux+Nvidia binary blob, where i drop to 30 fps after 5 min.

Yes, I have limited the FPS to 60. Well, it helps a little bit... but not that much. When it's past 30/35/40 mins. of game, the game is pretty much unplayable, mainly in teamfights where it can drop to 10 (while, at the start of game, I have an avg. 55/60 constant FPS).

--- Comment #10 from Olivier F. R. Dierick o.dierick@piezo-forte.be --- Hello,
League of Legends doesn't suffer from the issue for me.
The game client has been replaced and switcher to 64-bit since then.
Should we abandon this bug?
Regards.
