hello, i was on ubuntu gusty using the wine from the ubuntu repositories...i think that was wine_0.9.46-0ubuntu1 and san andreas worked fine at resonable speed but after the upgrade to hardy it was unplayable because when a car appeared in the game it became too slow to be playable...so i went on irc and i have done the following: *i upgraded to the last wine using that: http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb *i used this fix: http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-f008d57967dd5f8aa3f374c27540c1b5f4815947 *and this one: http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-51e2c09a43f0ac997f818617bec098e97170c503 (obviously not used in the bugreport trace) *and i removed compiz from ubuntu and desactivated composite from Xorg like this: Section "Extensions" Option "Composite" "Disable" EndSection

the error message seems the same: fixme:d3d_shader:IWineD3DVertexShaderImpl_CompileShader Vertexshader 0x306cd10 recompiled more than 50 times so i guess yes sorry for my bad research in the bug database i hope it's the only issue...

--- Comment #3 from Rico kgbricola@web.de 2008-04-30 16:26:52 --- Disabling the vertexshader in winecfg should solve your problem.

No I didn't. Sadly the 180.22 driver won't work correctly and freeze my system. I'll try as soon as they put out a new version
