--- Comment #2 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
why did you use 'Windows 7' setting in first place? Please don't change the Windows version from default value unless the game/installer explicitly asks for it or you know what you are doing (you obviously don't).
Setting importance to 'minor' because default 'Windows XP' works and marking dupe of bug 34622

--- Comment #3 from legluondunet@free.fr legluondunet@free.fr --- "why did you use 'Windows 7' setting in first place?"
Because I'm using Steam and some new games launch only in "Windows 7" mode.

--- Comment #4 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello,
--- quote --- Because I'm using Steam and some new games launch only in "Windows 7" mode. --- quote ---
sharing multiple Steam games in the same WINEPREFIX, each requiring different settings (Windows versions, VC++ runtimes, DX versions/overrides, .NET runtimes), can be a recipe for disaster. At one point you will have the prefix messed up beyond repair.
Do that at your on risk but be aware bug reports coming from such configurations will be automatically flagged 'invalid' (waste of time to analyse/dissect problems resulting from such prefixes).
