When logging on to Hello Kitty Online with the incorrect information, e.g., using only part of your hellokitty.com email address, the form does not show an error, or any other feedback. Simply shows "Connecting to Server" until the user cancels the connection.

Yes Sir. That's actually when I noticed it... In my side-by-side test. When I tried to login on windows with just the first have of the username, it showed an error saying my login was incorrect. On the Linux side, it did nothing but continue to show the "Connecting to Server" dialog box.
