somewhat similar to Bug 34041 but this is on linux and without DLC. After starting the game, choosing to exit to desktop leaves TESV.exe defunct and does not 'release the screen', have to switch to another tty to kill it before it is possible to return to desktop.

thanks for the canned response - did you read the description? I did check, found one which was similiar, even put it in the description for your convenience, but different OS, different installed components, different end result (no one in that bug reported being unable to return to desktop, just that they had to kill the process). How do you determine that to be a duplicate?
