Screenshot of Office 97 on Wine 0.9.48 (everything looks good)

I installed Office 97 on Wine 0.9.49.
The icons for minimizing, restoring and closing single documents are broken
(all crosses). I will attach screenshots.
This is a regression. The icons were good with 0.9.48.

Did you ran './configure --verbose' and fix all the warnings? Especially ones
related to fonts?

I could not see any font related warnings.

I was running a regression test but _every_ version failed. So I just
recompiled 0.9.48 on my system and now the icons are also broken with 0.9.48.
Very strange. Looks like a system update introduced this bug. The virtues of
Debian testing...

How do I proceed from here?

You might have a broken fontforge version (there are number of broken versions
of it). Try to downgrade it. Or use the version that you had before.

Wine uses it's own font - marlett for those button symbols. And it did happen
before when fontforge was corrupting output fonts.

It seems that the marlett font is not being generated properly. I grabbed a
working version of the font from another system and it fixed the problem.
