--- Comment #2 from Frédéric Delanoy frederic.delanoy@gmail.com 2013-06-24 13:20:05 CDT --- Works fine for me with wine 1.4-rc3 either with a pre-existing or a new image.
Can you reinstall the app in a new wineprefix and retry?
Also a terminal log is needed.

--- Comment #4 from artik jeff.artik@gmail.com 2013-06-24 14:22:08 CDT --- I posted 2nd log. Result is the same. The really strange thing is ths but is totally random. If you create for exemple a script in photoshop that will create 50 .jpg on the desktop, it can crash at the creation of the picture n°14 for exemple.
Also, when the message appear, nothing appear in the terminal.

Please retry with a *new* WINEPREFIX as already asked in comment 2 (i.e. reinstall Photoshop CS2 in this prefix and retest).

Hi Frédéric, it's what I did (or maybe I don't know how to install in a NEW prefix).
Any help ?
e.g. WINEPREFIX=/home/artik/.wine-PS_CS2 wine photoshopCS2installer.exe
(assuming /home/artik/.wine-PS_CS2 directory didn't pre-exist)
see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#wineprefix for more information and/or 'man wine'

--- Comment #9 from artik jeff.artik@gmail.com 2013-06-24 18:02:06 CDT --- Ok I confirm, I tried exactly same thing (comment 4). Result is the same. After 1.5.31, bug.
Maybe creating an action script that save for exemple 20 copy on the desktop in Photoshop, and running it could reproduce the bug. Is there a lot's of changes between 1.5.31 and 1.6 rc2 ?

There are changes, maybe not impacting this bug, but in general you should always use the latest version (now 1.6-rc3).
Also please name better your attachements: "2nd log" doesn't help (especially since there wasn't a first to begin with...). The description should be something like "Terminal log - wine-1.6-rc3" to be useful/informative.

Ok, I'll. So if I can help by any other solution ? Maybe i can send you my action palette file and my psd to test ?
You can attach those files (compress them if they are too big).
Rename correctly the current attachment (Details > Edit details > Description field) and reattach a new terminal log if necessary (i.e. if it differs from current one).
Does the bug only happen for this specific psd file? Or also if you create a new file/open an existing image and try to "save as" it as jpg?

--- Comment #13 from artik jeff.artik@gmail.com 2013-06-27 15:05:09 CDT --- Ok, I found a way to reproduce the bug easily.
1. Open an image file (I took a .jpg downloaded on internet). 2. Display your "action" script window (alt+f9) 3. At the bottom of this window, select "create a new action". Clic "Record". 4. direct "save as" your document. Error should appear. 5. Repeat the "save as" step if the first works. After 2/3 taimes, error message.

Not sure I'll be the one to fix that one ;-)
A regression test might be really useful, but one first needs to know the last version which didn't exhibit this bug. Was it 1.5.31? An earlier version?

Well in that case the wine version should have been set to 1.6-rc2, since it's the first version with which you got the issue.

--- Comment #21 from Frédéric Delanoy frederic.delanoy@gmail.com 2013-06-27 17:58:46 CDT --- Tried to perform regression testing between 1.5.31 and 1.6-rc2 but results were inconclusive.
Sometimes, I had to "save as" 7 or 8 times to observe the bug. The behavior seems pretty random (timing/threading issue?)

No
Then the patch likely only changes timing such that the bug triggers more reliably. Note that this code is running in a different process.
