Latest Steam client
I play with the marine campaign.
I can play without problems until I leave the game and try to load the last saved game, when charging is completed, a short crash sound fx and game sounds.
I tried it on Windows 7 and there is no problem.
My Hardware: AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1055T Processor × 6 8GB RAM Nvidia GeForce GTC 560Ti 1024 MB Driver Nvidia: 340.32 from ppa Ubuntu X-Edgers Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS 64bits

After I increase the quality of the sample pulse to server: 24bit and 48.000hz
And reinstalling the whole game. I had to download 15GB again.
And also cambe version of Windows XP.
And I played the first level once. Then the following levels not failure.
And the problem has not recurred.
Some graphic engine error. Glitches in textures, lowering the quality of textures and effects, and I was corrected by restarting.

I confirm the crash when loading a saved game in the Marine campaign. The game uses a checkpoint based system for saving the game. The crash happens very early in the Marine campaign. When the first checkpoint is reached (Mission Objective: Enter the Colony) I saved and restarted the game. In the main menu I clicked <Continue> and the last checkpoint began to load, but the game crashed during the loading stage.
The crash doesn't occur when Wine is patched with the CSMT patchset.
