During installation of FormatFactory I get the Error shown in the attached file. You can download FormatFactory here: http://pcfreetime.com/formatfactory/index.php?language=en I have Linux Mint 19 64-bit, Kernel Linux 4.15.0-36-generic x86_64, MATE 1.20.1 (installed on a Lenovo G500).

I can confirm this error. however i wonder what this download link points to.
The website says the download should be 64 Mb, however the downloaded installer only is 1,9 Mb. When you run with +relay an installer shows up that installs Lataha whatever that maybe. I extracted the content of the intsaller with http://constexpr.org/innoextract/files/innoextract-1.7/innoextract-1.7-windo... To me it looks like Adaware/trojan/Virus??????

I tried to download the program from here -> https://formatfactory.it.uptodown.com/windows/download and installed it. Then I tried to run it with wine-devel 3.17.0 xenial and I got the error that I attached.

This is what i get on my terminal when I try to install FormatFactory.

That doesn`t look right huh? Start by installing libpng I`d guess (libpng12-0)

I added the library and now there aren't errors anymore (as you can see in the file that I attached). But the application still doesn't work.

Well, I`ve ran out of ideas then, I don`t know why it crashes at your side. As said: it starts fine here. Maybe problem with your wine-package? I haven`t got a clue really. Maybe try wine Staging?

No it should work like that, it works here at least. The only thing I can come up with is that your wine-package/dependencies might be broken, but that`s just a shot in the dark. Maybe someone else on Mint could test, see if she/he runs into same trouble.(I guess you use oficially packages, not self compiled ones?)

By asking on Mint forum they suggested me to download another converter designed for Linux (for example from the software manager). You can keep this bug open if you want, and if the program will works with the next versions of wine I'll communicate it here, so that you can mark this bug as fixed :)

--- Comment #21 from luca.finizio.mgbx@hotmail.it --- Update: I needed to reinstall my OS; I installed the same OS (Mint 19 Tara 64-bit with the same kernel version) and I installed the same version of wine (3.18 devel) and same download of format factory. I retried to install it and now it works! I don't know why! XD But there are still several minor bugs in the program (like glithes or some minor function not working...) that can be reported separately; but I managed to do what I had to do.
