Bug #: 30246 Summary: EA Origin:Crashes when using openssl 1.0.1 Product: Wine Version: 1.5.0 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: robert2505@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 39501 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=39501 Wine output of origin.exe with openssl 1.0.1
After upgrading my archlinux x86_64 installation to openssl 1.0.1, running Origin immediately pops up the crash dialog. I have included the wine output.
Reverting to openssl 1.0.0g (only 32bit was necessary) makes it run as it did before.
I normally run a wow64 envirenment, but i have also tried a pure 32bit install, with no different result.

Looks like a crash inside Open SSL itself not Wine. Please install debug symbols for Wine and openssl and attach complete terminal output.

I have rebuilt wine and lib32-openssl without stripping symbols, but i'm nor sure what exactly to do now. Any pointers?

--- Comment #5 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy-bugzilla@kievinfo.com 2012-03-24 16:48:54 CDT --- Just in case setting to last Wine dll. But it really does look like a crash inside OpenSSL during initalization.

--- Comment #7 from Robert de Jager robert2505@gmail.com 2012-04-19 03:29:10 CDT --- 2 patches for openssl seem to remedy the problem. I have opened a ticket for lib32-openssl in the archlinux bugtracker, you can find the patches there

--- Comment #9 from Robert de Jager robert2505@gmail.com 2012-04-26 04:07:08 CDT --- One more thing, in addition to the last method, openssl would also have to be compiled with the -mstackrealign flag. Archlinux devs are not going to do it, and suggest it's another wine bug that needs to be solved.
