--- Comment #1 from H. Verbeet hverbeet@gmail.com 2008-09-03 14:25:55 --- Does this affect *only* the community installer? I know the regular installer used to work, but it was a long time ago that I used it. Note that in general it's a bad idea to run stuff with Wine from a FAT32 partition, you might want to try running it from an ext3 partition instead.

--- Comment #2 from GreatEmerald pastas4@gmail.com 2008-09-03 14:36:02 --- I'm not sure if it affects only this installer. Never used InstallShield Wizards with Wine earlier, so can't check. And OK, I'll try moving the install to ext3 and see if it works...

--- Comment #3 from GreatEmerald pastas4@gmail.com 2008-09-03 14:45:51 --- Moved to Ext3, no luck, the same error. BUT if I leave the drive as default, it will install it. The letter, C:, refers to ../drive_c in the WineCfg tool. While I added the I: drive, which now refers to /windows/I, which is the actual path to the FAT32 drive. It seems it doesn't like installing to FAT32s or just the drive should be written differently. Y: refers to /home/dainius (my user), so I might try and install to that place as well and see if it does install outside the .wine folder.

--- Comment #4 from H. Verbeet hverbeet@gmail.com 2008-09-03 14:51:37 --- Purely out of interest, is anyone actually still playing? :-) A couple of years ago it was pretty hard to find a server with people in it.

--- Comment #5 from GreatEmerald pastas4@gmail.com 2008-09-03 14:56:49 --- Yes, indeed, the U2XMP community organised quite a nice match schedule and now every Wednesday at 8PM EST they go play. Sometimes get up to 16 people playing, which is quite the server limit! Also, the server browser of U2XMP is generally bugged, but there are tools for monitoring servers and also some INI tweaks to make the browser running.

--- Comment #6 from GreatEmerald pastas4@gmail.com 2008-09-05 11:01:35 --- Aha! Found out you have to use root to install to FAT32, otherwise it just won't work. Probably a problem on my end, though that's the default setting... Now have to open a new bug report on running the game.
