Summary: Problems with H&R Block's TaxCut 2008 Product: Wine Version: 1.1.15 Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: msi AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: joe@nahmias.net
Created an attachment (id=19813) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=19813) Output from installing TaxCut 2008 under wine 1.1.15
TaxCut 2008 installed under wine 1.1.15 mostly okay, except for strange msiexec output -- see attached. However, when trying to run it, I get the message:
fixme:actctx:parse_depend_manifests Could not find dependent assembly L"Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC"
It also pops-up a message box saying "TaxCut Federal is not installed (see BusinessMgmt::getDllHandle())".
Even installing MSVCR80.DLL using `winetricks vcrun2005` did not make things better.
I'd love to be able to do my taxes without Windows... Please let me know if you need any other debug info, I'm happy to help testing!
Thanks for the great product thus far, --Joe

--- Comment #1 from matt matthaeus123@gmail.com 2009-03-21 16:31:22 --- I can confirm this issue. I guess it is the same problem that the previous versions have had.

--- Comment #2 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-09-22 13:59:59 --- Is this still an issue in current (1.1.29 or newer) wine?

Is this still an issue in current (1.1.29 or newer) wine?
I am unable to confirm that, because I no longer have a disk. I'll try to find a copy and try to install it again to test it against the latest Wine.

This particular issue doesn't occur under 1.1.28. I now have new issues, but those should probably go into a new bug.
