I don't get it, I compile almost dayly (some days there are no commits :( ) 
with Mandrake 9.2 as well  
[hatky@n hatky]$ bison --version 
bison (GNU Bison) 1.875

[hatky@n hatky]$ flex --version 
flex version 2.5.4

and get no error...
