Summary: CFS3: No joystick recognized Product: Wine Version: 1.1.37 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: normandy@web.de
Created an attachment (id=25978) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=25978) +imm log
Though my stick(s) are working in several other applications (IL-2 Sturmovik, Falcon 4, joytester.exe and so on) it is not recognized by Microsoft's Combat Flight Simulator 3. The ComboBox to select a joystick in the game is greyed out.
The game uses IMM/IME for input, dunno much about this. I had to use native msxml components to start the application.
A +joystick log gives no additional info. There is no default output related. As I don't have ANY clue, I attached a +imm log: starting the app, checking settings->joystick and closing it.
Sticks tested: Saitek Cyborg, Impact, X-45 or X-52
Thank you!

--- Comment #4 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2010-01-31 14:07:30 --- Don't see nothing obviously wrong there. Unless it's looking for something highly specific it should find at least 2 joysticks.

Other apps do so... :( Seems Microsoft's Sim looks for something special. Any hints? Is there a special way to use joysticks in windows? Without DirectInput? Does IMM provide such things?
I don't have any clue :( Just thought about copying a configuration file with joystick from some windows-installation, but the game does not even start on Vista systems :D And I doubt it would change anything though. Maybe I'll find someone using windows these days. Manually editing the xml-file didn't change anything too.

--- Comment #6 from John Haywards normandy@web.de 2010-02-15 04:44:53 --- Another config file does not make any difference. Wine 1.1.38 didn't change anything, too.

--- Comment #7 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2011-11-16 15:35:23 CST --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 1.5 years. Is this still an issue in current (1.3.32 or newer) wine?
