--- Comment #1 from Sebastian Lackner sebastian@fds-team.de --- Could you please try to upgrade to 1.9.3 (or at least 1.8)? Your Wine version is over two years old, and a lot of issues have been fixed in the meantime. If your distro doesn't provide up-to-date versions, please check out the download page of winehq.org.
If the issue still occurs in a more recent version of Wine, please attach full terminal output (as file attachment). A log created with WINEDEBUG=+winsock could also be useful, if it is an issue somewhere in Wines network implementation (see https://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log ).

Hi Bruno,
I have the GOG version of Impossible Creatures and in order to get multiplayer in that version you need to run "winetricks directplay". Not sure if this helps any but I thought I'd mention it :)

Thanks for the test, can you attach a +winsock log with and without directplay, please? The bug is abandoned but maybe we could get some hint.

--- Comment #6 from fjfrackiewicz@gmail.com --- Created attachment 57143 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=57143 +winsock with no directplay
+winsock log with no "winetricks directplay" used.

--- Comment #7 from fjfrackiewicz@gmail.com --- Created attachment 57144 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=57144 +winsock with directplay
+winsock log with "winetricks directplay" used before starting the game.
Both logs were used in a clean 32-bit Windows XP prefix.
@Bruno,
Please feel free to let me know if you need further info.
