after about 3 days of playing, it starts to crash often. i've tried updating wine to 2.3 but it still crashes

additionally exact steps how to reproduce the crash.

OP provided insufficient information and also used some Wine wrapper which makes the bug potentially invalid.

Don't use a pre-packaged game version (comment #4) - this makes the bug invalid. Again: use _plain_ Wine and do a proper game installation.

Additionally state the distro/operating system you are running on so this bug report might be still turned into something useful (as of now it's likely invalid).

I don't use some Wine wrapper, and my version of FIFA11 is the official CD version.

The distro is Xubuntu 14.04 - 64 bits and the wine version is 1.7.16.

_I created a 32bits prefix for FIFA 11, and installed FIFA from the CD. _The game start normally, but crash after 2-3 minutes.

I feel that the crash occurs often when my goals are displayed. I don't know if it's related, but the shadow of my goals is not displayed normally.

Please don't overuse 'winetricks' recipes. It makes diagnosis hard and the bug possibly invalid. Try to install as 'clean' as possible (preferably without any native components).

If you figured out it really needs some dx9 override to work around a known issues, explicitly state it in the bug.

No, please don't change the default WINEPREFIX WinVer (Windows XP) unless the installer explicitly asks for it. Changing to higher Windows version tends to make things worse.

I'm (re)setting the bug fields based on your report. The former values were pretty much invalid (Wine 2.3? Wineskin on OSX, sure).

Looks like it's still broken, or rather has "re-broken" since then. It doesn't work on 1.9.16 (or 1.9.3 that I happened to also have installed). The game loads the splash-screen and then page faults.

Happens with both the demo and the full version of the game.

To be more precise I dont get such a crash as mentioned before, it just hangs in some thread and tries to retry every 60s with wine-staging.

The game starts with no issues.

There is some short animation of player "Kaka".

I was able to play 1vs1 goal keeper and it seems to be extremely difficult to get goals for a short trial, just using space as shooting skill.
