Summary: program is not able to extract version information Product: Wine Version: 1.1.16 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: wine@devloop.de
Created an attachment (id=19719) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=19719) log with ver channel debug
I try to run a program which tries to extract its own version (under windows: right mouse button -> properties -> version). But if it is communicating with its updateserver, the versioninformation is empty - seems it is not able to get its own version.
If i overwrite version.dll with one from an original Windows installation it is working.
Program I tried: http://photoservice.fujicolor.de/downloads/SG-EC-20/Rossmann_Fotoservice.exe
As advised by arethusa from irc I attach a log with WINDEBUG=+ver.

--- Comment #2 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2010-09-12 02:35:50 CDT --- I don't see a properties/version option (though the program is in German..). I tried several of the dialogs but couldn't find it. Perhaps the program has been updated? Please rest in wine 1.3.2 or newer.

--- Comment #3 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com 2012-07-18 20:00:13 CDT --- I tried testing this too but could not find a way to reproduce the problem. Maybe resolve it as abandoned? Or if anyone still have the original version to test...

--- Comment #4 from damage wine@devloop.de 2012-07-19 03:07:02 CDT --- Hi, I think closing this is ok. It is a very special program that was running under an (now) old wine version. I didn't used that software since one year. If someone has the same problem he may reopen this one.
cheers Daniel
