Summary: Cry of the Infected demo fails with "runtime error 7018" Product: Wine Version: 1.1.42 Platform: x86 URL: http://www.gamershell.com/download_24622.shtml OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: arethusa26@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=27201) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=27201) Cry of the Infected +d3dxof trace
After installing the Cry of the Infected demo and d3dx9 from winetricks to work around a startup failure, starting a new game leads to some loading, and then a error message box stating:
"Runtime Error 7018 - Could not load 3D object at line 16058"
I suspect the problem is related to d3dxof, which seems to be confirmed by installing native d3dxof from winetricks, which makes the game progress further until erroring with a slightly different error message.

--- Comment #3 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2011-05-21 14:06:39 CDT --- Still an issue in wine-1.3.20-230-g456e48e.
'Runtime Error 7018 - Could not load 3D object at line 17693' when launching a new game.
Native d3dxof.dll works around the crash.

--- Comment #4 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr 2011-11-06 23:15:08 CST --- Maybe a dd3xof component should be used. Like this, Christian Costa could have a look to these bugs, maybe.

--- Comment #5 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr 2012-02-18 14:28:54 CST --- new backtrace with +d3dx0f channels could be useful since Christian put more debug infos in d3dxof.

Error still happens with 1.4-rc4. Native d3dxof still works around it. The error happens at the end of the loading bar after to ask to start a new game. Here's an updated log.
