Summary: BYOND Suite: Browser windows do not function. Product: Wine Version: 0.9.61. Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: chris062689@gmail.com
In BYOND.exe the browser element simply does not appear. (May be due to ole32.dll override to allow login?)
In DreamSeeker.exe and DreamMaker.exe we believe is causing a majority of crashes with the client.

From running my test environment (available on the BYOND App DB Entry), I have
concluded that the browser window will crash Dream Seeker! The browser window will not crash it one is actually present, but if any information is sent to be displayed, it will crash. Adding a native ole32.dll does not help the problem because then DreamSeeker will not even start.

--- Comment #6 from Chris chris062689@gmail.com 2008-07-12 00:06:07 --- One of the developers of BYOND had this to say:
\icon outputs and browser controls both use COM/OLE. That'd be the place to look.

--- Comment #7 from Danial Bulloch DBulloch@BluePCSolutions.com 2008-07-12 13:50:53 --- If you ad dreamseeker.exe into the winecfg listing of overrides, you can select ole32.dll as "Builtin/Wine only" and it will allow DreamSeeker to run. However, I got an error right after joining Chatters, will try with other games.

--- Comment #8 from Chris chris062689@gmail.com 2008-07-12 17:27:08 --- That error in Chatters is due to bug #14419. When I attempted to use ole32.dll native; it seemed to cause DreamSeeker to crash even more frequently despite games that did not have a browser window.
