Summary: Far Cry: Screwed up graphics when using CryVision Product: Wine Version: 0.9.46. Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-opengl AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: spencercw@googlemail.com
Created an attachment (id=8496) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=8496) Screenshot (Ignore the weird rectangles, it is not like that in-game)
Wine version: wine-0.9.46-170-g54720c7 Distro: Gentoo Linux 2007.0 GCC version: gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 (Gentoo 4.1.2) Program: Far Cry 1.33 No-cd patch applied. In Program Files/Ubisoft/Crytek/Far Cry/system.cfg, 'r_Driver = "Direct3D9"' changed to 'r_Driver = "OpenGL"'.
No much to say except see attached screenshot. Ignore the weird colour rectangles, not sure why it came out like that in the screenshot, but it looks fine in-game. It is the weirdness on the arms that you're looking at. A similar effect is seen on enemy characters.
(CryVision night vision and thermal googles rolled into one.)

--- Comment #1 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2007-10-10 13:24:29 --- Please do not file any bugs for FarCry running in openGL mode. That renderer is broken even on windows.

--- Comment #2 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2007-10-10 13:26:50 --- In case it's not clear, using opengl renderer on windows results in lots of visual artifacts. Some of those do look like your picture. Some result in just absent objects. This makes it useless to file any bugs against _any_ errors you get in FarCry with opengl.
Closing invalid.

--- Comment #3 from Chris Spencer spencercw@googlemail.com 2007-10-10 13:39:36 --- I am aware that the OpenGL renderer doesn't work very well, but I tested this on Windows and it worked as it should. I'm not sure if that makes a difference so I will leave it closed, but can you clarify?
Cheers.
