It hangs and leaves TrueImage.exe, Explorer.exe and wine services running(total
hang) you have to pkill the processes

Doesn't hanq with wine 1.1.29 but still doens't install, acronis tells
something like: the install has failed, you can retry with the installer.

Testing with 1.3.19 (and acronis 2011 trial), installer does not crash BUT you
can't go past the "Install the trial version" screen. It doesn't work and
claims a serial number, which corresponds to the alternative.

Hello folks,

adding stable download link via Internet Archive for documentation:

The installer still fails with recent Wine 6.4. But those are different
problems, unrelated to the issues from ten years ago. It seems a custom action
to install Acronis' TrueImage Backup Archive Mounter driver fails now and
results in 1603 error/rollback.

I will create new bug reports as needed. Let's keep this one buried in its
grave. It was already recycled multiple times for different problems.
