Hi Austin,
Then the culprit who installed this would be: ../wine-1.1.20/tools/wineinstall from wine-1.1.20.tar.bz2
How do I fix this?
Many thanks, -T
wine]$ find . -iname regi.sys ./drive_c/windows/system32/drivers/regi.sys

That does not come with wine. It was one of your applications that installed it.

--- Comment #7 from Todd Chester ToddAndMargo@verizon.net 2009-04-25 13:59:06 --- I looked up what regi.sys was: InterVideo WinDVD regi.sys V 1.0.0.2.
This dates back a long, long time ago when I was trying to get Win DVD to work in Wine. Wine 1.1.20 must have broken it. (I current use Linux VLC 0.9.9). I do not even have the installs for WinDVD anymore.
Anyway, I erased (moved it out of wine) regi.sys and happy camping has returned.
Thank you all for helping me find this.
Fix action was to remove regi.sys. Please close this ticket
