--- Comment #1 from Sebastian Lackner sebastian@fds-team.de --- Please take a look at the bug reporting guideline (http://wiki.winehq.org/Bugs), your bug report does not include any of the required information, and several fields were filled out incorrectly.
You also didn't provide any useful error description. Please try to explain as exactly as possible what you are trying to do, and what doesn't work. Do you try to install a Java runtime in Wine? If yes, which one? If you encounter any errors with Wine, please add the terminal output as attachment to your bug report, see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log.
BTW: Is there any reason why you want to use Wine? Minecraft is shipped as a *.jar file, so it work with (almost) any Java runtime, including a native Linux one.

--- Comment #2 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
I can't confirm this, Minecraft 1.8.8 works fine here with Wine 1.7.53
Boostrapper installer:
https://launcher.mojang.com/download/Minecraft.exe (downloads all needed stuff, including JRE)
Registered a new account, logged in -> play Minecraft (downloads more assets).
As Sebastian said: you provided almost no useful information - except for the name of the game. Horrayy ... NOT. We don't have a magic glass ball.
* exact version of the game/launcher downloaded (including link) * Wine version used * exact description what doesn't work and how to reproduce ("it crashes when I click X")
You might want to use WineHQ user forums first -> https://forum.winehq.org (general issues, how to install/run games etc.) Bugzilla is not meant for end user support.
There is also Wine appdb entry for Minecraft with hints and notes:

$ sha1sum Minecraft.exe 8f1d31dfea0301cfa2ca7aaedc34da8e9fa25b31 Minecraft.exe
$ du -sh Minecraft.exe 1.2M Minecraft.exe
$ wine --version wine-1.7.53-280-g54633e3

--- Comment #4 from Aaron Franke arnfranke@yahoo.com --- Is this still an issue in Wine 2.6?
Please attach more information, such as the Wine version.
You can find your Wine version by using `wine --version` in the terminal.
Minecraft is also available natively on Linux. You should consider using that.

--- Comment #5 from chanmaichop_kotsana@yahoo.com --- FYI: I sent the original reporter on 7th May 2017 this message: --- Subject: Minecraft on Linux?
Hi, I saw a bugreport that you cannot play Minecraft under Wine: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39526
Is that resolved now?
Regards, Chan ---
There was no reply and no message that the e-mail would be invalid or having a full inbox. (Though I think now the subject was not very good.)
Anyway, as it was pointed out there is no need using Wine for Minecraft, my son was playing it for the past 2 years natively under Ubuntu and Lubuntu just fine.
When do you normally close reports as "ABANDONED"?
