Summary: SigmaPlot (9,10 and 11) y-axis title rotated and shifted Product: Wine Version: 1.1.2 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: conboy@chem.utah.edu
In SigmaPlot 9, 10 and 11, the y-axis label is rotated 180 degrees and shifted to the lower left of where is should be. This problem is not related to bug: 14527 90º rotated text not shown, as the problem still persists in the current wine version 1.1.2. This problem has been present for the past 3-years at least.
A demo version of the program can be found at http://www.systat.com/downloads/?sec=d008
The demo version of SigmaPlot 11 will all install. I had the best success with win version set to Win 98. However, in order to get the program to run, you need to install DCOM98 and then the program functions properly. At this point problems with ole errors are eliminated but the DEMO version will not work do to a problem with the temporary license. To get around this you need to copy the SigmaPlot folder (demo version) from a windows machine (huge pain I know) and then everything works.

Still a problem with Wine 1.2.3 and Sigmaplot 11.
It seems that rather than rotating the whole string, each individual character is being rotated 90 degrees. This, of course, is not the same thing!

--- Comment #9 from p.rockett@sheffield.ac.uk 2011-05-31 09:23:28 CDT --- Sorry - bad day at the office. Having looked at this again, it looks like the problem is, that whereas rotation of the text in Sigmaplot is taken to be counter-clockwise, the font is being rotated clockwise. (My understanding is that in Windows, you draw rotated text by preparing a rotated version of the font.) Would this be a straightforward fix?
